Rebel

Sometimes you come across words that touch you right in the heart. I saw this poem “Rebel” on a poster in the library a while ago, it got a place on the mantelpiece at home. Friend said: “Did you write that?” I answered: “No, her name is Ellen Deckwitz.” And he said: “Well, that could have been you. It’s like I hear your voice.”

Here it is, for those who also want to enjoy it:

“Oh yes, they always say you should just be yourself

but by that they mean just like the rest”

— Ellen Deckwitz
